For centuries, all was peaceful…until a fierce Black Dragon suddenly appeared and destroyed the capital city, Granadis. Dragoneer’s Aria is a Turn-Based PSP exclusive RPG from HitMaker, that narrates the story of many great dragons that are burdened with the task of being guardians of the planet, and your incredibly effeminate quartet of heroes(two of which who actually are female) that are to protect them from vicious hunters that aim to slay the dragons.ollow his adventure to save the world.

The gameplay of aria is one of its shining moments when compared to Brave Story or Blade Dancer for several reasons. First, it might just be a little thing, but just having the ability to walk and not having to sprint everywhere is a nice touch. The voice acting for aria is decent in its own right, but is not on par with something like Daxter. Now for the abilities, to gain abilities in aria you have to equip items called Dragon Orbs and Luces, a system obviously borrowed from FF6/7, is plagued by a couple problems. First, most of them except for healing spells are quite worthless as physical attacks do more damage even if you take the time to level them up, secondly you have no choice but to level them up if you want to obtain all the chests. Now for the item crafting system it is pretty simple and straight foward and just as with BD & BS you obtain it very early in the game, within the first 10 minutes actually, but again you have the problem that if you want to obtain all the chests you have to forge otherwise useless items. The other abilities in aria include character specific abilities for in the field or in battle the prblem is that on the the exception of the healing ability they are all pretty much useless. Guarding in aria uses a system that is reminescent of Legend of Dragoons Spirit Charge that has you trying to hit small points on a circle making it a much more complicated affair than it has to be, and last but not least: Rush Attacks, these are enhanced versions of physical attacks that may actually be useful.
